Hairdresser apprenticeship to ownership success story at MOE & Co.

My Story

I was actually a customer first. One day Julie was cutting my hair and asked what I wanted to do with my future. At the time, I wasn’t sure. I just remember saying, “Barbering looks cool.”

Next thing I know, she offered me a weekend job helping out at the shop while I was still in school.

I started learning straight away. Their method made it simple to pick things up. I was on the tools a lot quicker than I expected. Being part of the team showed me how everything worked behind the scenes. That made me even more excited to keep learning.

By the end of that year, my MOE & Co apprentice story moved ahead quickly. We sat down with my parents and had a proper chat about where things were heading. That is when I decided to leave school, sign up for my Certificate III in Hairdressing, and commit to this career.

Now I manage the Bentons Square location. I also help train new team members who are starting their own journey. It still blows my mind how far things have come from just a conversation in the chair.

I will always be grateful to Ali and Julie for taking a chance on me. They saw something in me before I saw it in myself. I would not be where I am today without their support, guidance, and trust.

This MOE & Co apprentice story proves how a small start can grow into something bigger with the right mentoring and chances.
